Things are not going the way you want?

Often, it helps to talk to a professional, a qualified therapist, in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental way.

The first meeting is free of charge.

In order to discover who I am, how and where I practice, I invite you for a little chat, up to 30 minutes long, and free of charge. We’ll learn about each other and will discuss how we can work together.

    What happens when we meet?

When you visit me, my role will not be to give you advice on how to live your life or raise your children. Rather, I will join you in exploring what is not working; we will team up against the “problem”, whatever this problem might be.

Concentrating on what you do well will help creating the changes you want to see in your life. We will revisit the past but will aim at the future and will bring hope into the present.

I believe that therapy does not have to be heavy, sad or painful. Laughter, humour and optimism will always be sitting somewhere in the room with us.

Who do I work with? What do I work on?

I have two major areas of interest and expertise:

Having two teenage boys, I am passionate about children, teenagers or young adults and the difficulties they might encounter at times of transition, (such as the separation of their parents, moving school, moving overseas or simply growing up); I also feel that addictions to new technologies, perfectionism, behavioural and relationship issues are important matters which must be addressed.

Having immigrated to New Zealand from France 12 years ago, I am also very sensitive to issues particular to immigrants: identity, cultural crisis, fitting in, isolation etc…

In saying so, my expertise can be useful to anyone in need of help and everyone is welcome to my practice.

Counselling can take place in English or in French

    Who am I?

I am a counsellor trained in narrative therapy.
I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from Unitec, Auckland.
I am currently studying towards a Master’s degree in Social Practice at Unitec.
I belong to the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (PMNZAC) and practice according to their code of ethics.

Would you like to know more about the theory behind my approach and the path we will take?
As a practitioner mainly using the narrative approach, my way of working is strongly informed by the ideas of the post-modern movement.
Most importantly, I believe in working collaboratively with my clients.
No one wants to go to counselling for ages and
everyone who seeks help already possesses the skills necessary to create solutions.
For this reason, and because I often work with children and young people, I enjoy using approaches -along the narrative ideas- which aim at finding solutions rather than dwelling on issues, such as Interactive Drawing Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Brief Therapy.
